Juliette Appold
Juliette Appold holds a Ph.D. in Musicology from the Phillips University in Marburg, Germany, and an M.A. in Musicology and French Language and Literature from the University of Leipzig, Germany. Additionally, she received a B.M. degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, majoring in violin performance.
An experienced violin and piano teacher, Dr. Appold has recently performed with the Delaware Valley Philharmonic Orchestra, and from 2003 to 2007 was a violin section member of the “Akademisches Orchester Leipzig,” performing 6 concerts per year with that ensemble in the prestigious Leipzig Gewandhaus.
As a musicologist, Dr. Appold has taught courses at the University of Leipzig and published numerous scholarly articles, as well as a book on the German composer Felix Mendelssohn Batholdy. Dr. Appold joined the faculty of Hunterdon Academy of the Arts in 2008.
