For young beginners wishing to start piano, we offer a sequence of classes that provide a high-quality, low-cost alternative to piano lessons.
Students age 5 are introduced to the piano in our Music for Little Mozarts classes. In this wonderful 2-year program, students explore the basics of keyboard playing within the context of imaginary story-telling. Story lines involve a
number of plush characters representing famous composers such as J.S. Bach ("J.S. Bunny"), Beethoven ("Beethoven Bear"), and Mozart ("Mozart Mouse"), among others. Cute as this may be, this program is challenging.
Students ages 6 to 8 who are interested in the piano may want to join our exciting new Pianissimo classes, an innovative two-year keyboard program incorporating music technologies. Pianissimo will be launched in September 2010. Register now because space is very limited!
The HAA Keyboard Lab
Music for Little Mozarts classes and the Pianissimo class sequence for students 6 to 8 take place in our spacious Keyboard Lab (see image above). This Keyboard Lab has recently been modernized through the installation of 6 new computers that will allow the use of various music technology applications in classroom teaching.
What Instrument Do I Need To Have?
Students enrolled in Music for Little Mozarts or Pianissimo Classes must have access to a TOUCH-SENSITIVE keyboard
or piano for practicing. Electronic Keyboards are available for purchase from our retail partner CrossBorder Music (in the same building).
Brand-new upright pianos are available for rent at the very low cost of only $49 per month!
