About Us: Excellence in Arts Education

Award-winning Hunterdon Academy of the Arts has been serving the community since 1981. With an annual enrollment of nearly 600 students, HAA features the largest and most distinguished music studio in New Jersey's Hunterdon County.  Long recognized for its Kindermusik program--one of the most successful in the nation--Hunterdon Academy of the Arts recently became the second-largest Trinity Guildhall Centre in the United States.

As a member of the National Guild for Community Arts

Education, our primary mission is to make high-quality arts education accessible to students of all ages and levels of ability.  To stay abreast of the latest trends in training musicians, we are also members of the two leading national organizations in the field: The National Association for Music Education (MENC) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).

Deeply committed to delivering an educational experience of outstanding value, Hunterdon Academy of the Arts is very selective in appointing faculty members. A rigorous faculty interview process ensures that, first, students prosper in a safe environment, and, second, HAA maintains the consistently high standards of teaching that students have come to expect from us.

Located within easy reach of several of the country's most prestigious colleges and universities, HAA is proud to have on faculty teachers trained at, among others, Westminster Choir College, the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, Mannes College The New School for Music, Berkelee College of Music, and Manhattan School of Music. Many of our instructors are college professors themselves, serving on the faculty of various colleges and universities in the Tri-State area.

In its early years, HAA came to be known for its Kindermusik program, which has time and again been ranked by Kindermusik International among the top 1% of all Kindermusik studios worldwide! More recently, HAA has greatly broadened its focus to provide instruction to students of all ages, and to build a performing arts program that, rapidly expanding, includes music lessons, various ensembles in classical, rock, and pop music, as well as musical theatre classes. Moreover, we now also offer a limited number of art classes each semester.

Our students greatly benefit from regular opportunities to present their work in public. Since concerts and recitals provide important milestones in the students' artistic and personal development, they are an integral part of the education at HAA.
