Who We Are, and What We Stand For

Excellence in Arts Education

A branch campus of Bethlehem, PA-based Youniversity of Music and Arts, award-winning Hunterdon Academy of the Arts has been serving the community since 1981. With an annual enrollment of nearly 600 students, HAA features the largest and most distinguished music school in New Jersey's Hunterdon County. The institution has long recognized for its successful early childhood music program.  More recently, Hunterdon Academy of the Arts recently became the second-largest Trinity Guildhall Centre in the United States.

We take pride in the high quality of our instruction and broad range of sequential programs, which respond to the needs of our community and challenge students to realize their highest level of artistic accomplishment.  To maintain the consistently high standards of teaching that students have come to expect from us, Hunterdon Academy of the Arts is very selective in appointing faculty members.  Indeed, many of our instructors currently teach, or have taught, at various colleges and universities in the Tri-State area, providing our students with an exceptional educational experience.

Expanding Reach

As of 2011, Hunterdon Academy of the Arts has become a branch campus of Youniversity of Music and Arts in Bethlehem, PA, which is operated by the same management.  This affiliation greatly expands the reach of both institutions, creating a larger community of teachers, professional musicians, and students who benefit from the exchange between both schools.  Students of Hunterdon Academy of the Arts now have the opportunity to study with teachers and artists visiting from Youniversity of Music and Arts, and vice versa.  Additionally, through a special partnership between Youniversity of Music and Arts and Bethlehem's ArtsQuest at SteelStacks, HAA students and faculty are afforded regular performance opportunities in what is rapidly becoming one of leading performing arts centers in the Northeast.

Embracing Diversity

As a member of the National Guild for Community Music Lessons FlemingtonArts Education, we strive to make high-quality arts education accessible to all students, regardless of age, sex, gender, race, religion, national and ethnic origin, sexual orientation, ability, or financial circumstances.  Furthermore, we work hard to eliminate physical and communication barriers that prevent people with disabilities from participating fully in
our programs. To better serve under-privileged families, we are currently in the process of developing subsidized arts education programs.

As a result of all these efforts, we are very excited that Hunterdon Academy of the Arts has become increasingly diverse in its faculty and student body.

To get a better understanding of our programs, please visit us for a complimentary trial class or lesson at our state-of-the-art, 11-classroom facility. Or call us at (908) 782-4943; we'd be happy to address any questions you may have.
