Pokie Huang, Piano

piano lessons flemingtonPokie Huang, a native of Taiwan has been an active pianist, collaborative pianist and teacher in the New York City area for the past five years.  He began his musical studies at the age of five and completed his high school diploma at the Interlochen Arts Academy in northern Michigan where he studied with Dr. Michael Coonrod.  Upon graduating, he continued his Bachelors Degree at Lawrence University where he studied with Dr. Michael Kim and later at Manhattan School of Music where he completed his Bachelors and Masters Degree under the guidance of Prof. Phillip Kawin.  In master classes Pokie has worked with many distinguished pianists and artist teachers, including Jeremy Denk, Nina Serogina, Vladimir Feltsman and Avi Reichert among others. Pokie has performed solo and chamber works in music festivals around the world including, Aspen Music Festival, Pianosummer at New Paltz and the International Academy of Music in St. Petersburg, Russia.
