The Hunterdon Youth Choir has grown over the years, and now comprises three distinct sections to accommodate choristers of different age groups and skill levels:

Training Choir:   This choir is for students in grades 1, 2 and 3. No auditions are required. Rehearsals are held once a week for 45 minutes during the school year.

Advanced Choir:   This choir is for students in grades 4 - 6. Auditions
are scheduled in the spring for the following September school year. Rehearsals are held once a week for 1 hour during the school year

Chamber Choir:   Chamber choir, grades 7 and up, is a select group
of older more experienced students. Rehearsals are held once a week
for 45 minutes during the school year. An audition is required for new members.

The goal for each Choir is to:

  • Focus on developing the voice
  • Provide ensemble experience
  • Introduce classical and contemporary choral literature
  • Understand proper vocal technique, diction and vocal production
  • Gain experience in part singing, sight singing and musical interpretation
  • Provide various performance opportunities with other children's choirs, as well as, regional orchestras
