Rhythms and Grooves for the Instrhmentalist

Rhythm is universal to all styles of music! From Lady Gaga, Bach, Charlie Parker to the drumming circles of Africa ALL music contains rhythm.  People tend to associate rhythmic training with drummers; however, proper rhythmic training is essential to ALL musicians, regardless of instrument, style or level.

This unique class is intended to study the world of rhythmrhythms and grooves flemington with a special emphasis on how to FEEL rhythm rather than the simple traditional methods of counting.  Students will learn fun songs from all over the world, play together in groups, learn how to hear and improvise rhythms, learn about the ‘universal’ rhythm principles, and most importantly, will learn how to transfer these concepts to their own instruments, which will drastically improve their playing!

The class will be taught by Andrew Lima, who brings his teaching experience for the Berklee City Music program to HAA. Students of ALL levels and abilities are welcome.

Please note: This class is a preview of a 4-week program we're offering this coming June.  If you like the preview, sign up for the extended version (just $40 for the entire month of June)!
