Co-Director of HAA's Show Kids Choir, Amanda graduated cum laude from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (General/Choral Concentration). Throughout her time at Delaware, Amanda demonstrated a true passion for teaching choral and general music, as well as theater to students in grades K-12. She was also selected as the Outstanding Student Teacher for Elementary General Music. Amanda was heavily involved in the UD Community Music School, as an intern with UD Children’s Choirs (grades 1-8), and as a teacher through the Music for Young Minds Program. She also was the Director of ProjectMUSICOpera!, a service learning project that allowed UD music students and a local elementary school to work together on a combined musical.
Amanda is currently the 3rd-5th grade General/Vocal Music Teacher in Springfield, NJ, where she teaches weekly General Music classes, 5th Grade Chorus, and an Introduction to Musical Theatre Club. Several of her students have been selected to perform with the NJACDA Elementary Treble Honor Choir.
As a performer, Amanda has traveled and sang with the University of Delaware Chorale, performing in France, at regional and national music education conferences, and with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra. A large part of her collegiate experience was also spent performing with the UD Opera Theatre, with operas including La Bohème, Falstaff, Little Women (Amy March), and The Crucible (Ann Putnam).
