Clipper E.

Piano Lessons | Flemington, NJ

Described as “one of the finest pianists of his generation…a consummate musician” by Fanfare, Clipper Erickson made his debut at age nineteen in Los Angeles as soloist with the Young Musicians Foundation Orchestra and later studied at The Juilliard School, Yale University, and Indiana University. Erickson has won top prizes at international competitions and performs as soloist with orchestras throughout the US, as well as recitalist in venues including the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Carnegie Hall, and Symphony Space in New York.

Clipper has released several albums, most notably My Cup Runneth Over – the Complete Piano Works of R. Nathaniel Dett, a great African descent composer.  Gramophone UK honored the album as a critic’s choice and it is often played on radio stations across the US and by BBC3. In response to the COVID19 pandemic, Clipper began an online series, Music for the Soul, which features music by composers of color and women in combination with other well-known masterworks – “the intersection of classical music and social justice.”

Dr. Erickson teaches for the Honors Music Program at Westminster Conservatory and has taught undergraduate and graduate level piano students at Temple University as well as courses in Keyboard Literature, 19 th Century Piano Music, and the Sonatas of Beethoven at Temple. He is excited to be joining the faculty at Hunterdon Academy of the Arts.
