Lilla holds her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in Vocal Performance from the Juilliard School with honors, where she studied music pedagogy under the tutelage of Dr. Virginia Allen, faculty member at the Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music. She's been featured in Opera Today and Business Insider and has won critical and international acclaim for her "appealing sound, agile coloratura and oversize wit" (The New York Times). She is winner of the Juilliard Honor's Recital, the American Prize Competition and Metropolitan Opera National Council Eastern District Competition, among many others.
Previous highlights include her Carnegie Hall debut with the Marilyn Horne Foundation, Allice Tully Hall debut and yearly performances with the Lincoln Center FOCUS Festival, performances with the Saint Louis Symphony, Wallingford Symphony Orchestra, Israeli Chamber Orchestra and Juilliard Orchestra led by Maestro Alan Gilbert to name a few. Having taught at multiple award-winning music institutions, she has extensive experience teaching students of various ages, abilities and genres. She believes that anyone can learn to sing and it's her deepest desire to help her students overcome technical obstacles and discover the strengths of their unique instrument. As a teacher she strives to create a studio environment conducive of focus, performance, encouragement and most importantly, fun!
