Isaac K.
My name is Isaac. My main/favorite instrument is guitar, which I have been playing since I was 13 years old. I attended West Morris Central high school where I took my first starter music theory classes to supplement and organize the knowledge I was accumulating by pursuing music theory on my own accord. In addition to my theory classes, I was part of a rock-based improvisatory band that played at our high school’s battle of the bands, a number of private shows for various smaller friend groups as well as open mic nights at The Hive (Chester NJ) and The Stanhope House (Stanhope NJ). After high school I attended the County College of Morris majoring in music performance. I mainly studied classical music theory along with a primary (Guitar) and secondary (Piano) instrument. Throughout my musical career, I have always tried to continue improving my technical instrumental skills in addition to expanding my creative outlook. I strongly believe that the enjoyment you get out of your instrument is equivalent to the work you put in, so it is important to be consistent in your studies and practice. Although I am open and receptive to a wide range of music, my style of playing revolves mostly around Rock, Funk and Jazz based concepts. In my free time I enjoy improvised jamming, creating instrumental music and practicing writing “longer” musical compositions. Some of my favorite Musical artists include Phish, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, The Beatles, David Bowie, Grateful Dead, The Meters, Dr.John and Bob Dylan,to name a few.
