Allysun M.

Allysun  has loved theater since she was young and shares that passion with her students in class and on stage. She enjoys being an educator because she loves seeing students challenge themselves and succeed in ways they never imagined. Originally from Mansfield, OH, Allysun has lived and worked all over the USA, and is happy to now call New Jersey home. 

Allysun received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Northern Kentucky University (Norse Up!) in 2015 and attended the Disney College Program (DCP) from 2015 to 2016.  During the DCP, she realized how much she enjoyed working in leadership positions and cultivating positive and inspiring workspaces. 

In 2015, she landed in Cincinnati, OH, working as a touring artist and manager, performing for audiences across the tristate area with TCT on Tour.  The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati quickly became her home, where she spent four years working as an actor, teacher, and eventually, the Assistant to the Artistic Director of Education and Outreach.  

In 2019, Allysun left OH for a position as the Education Director at the Maples Repertory Theatre in Macon, Missouri, before joining the National Tour of the Buddy Holly Story as a performer and Company Manager.  After the Pandemic, Allysun relocated to live and work in NYC as a touring Company Manager, Stage Manager at AMDA, and theater educator. 

During her time in NYC, Allysun began work as a Substitute Virtual Instructor with the Hunterdon Academy of the Arts.  This partnership reignited her passion for theater education, and HAA is now family.  She is very excited to join the team as Theatre Arts Director. Working with students of all ages is, and has always been a passion.  The Theatre Arts give all students a place to belong and the tools learned in our classes will benefit students for their entire lives regardless of career choice.  

In her free time, Allysun enjoys seeing shows, reading books, taking care of her many plants, and spending time at home with her husband, Noah, and their fur babies, Lucy and Mitzy.
