Born in 1977 in Argentina and raised in Paraguay, Alejo is a multifaceted musician celebrated for his work as a guitarist, music producer, sound engineer, and teacher. His musical journey began in childhood, laying the foundation for a career that spans classical, electric, and flamenco guitar. Over the last two decades, Alejo has distinguished himself as a flamenco guitarist, merging traditional flamenco techniques with South American musical genres to craft a unique and recognizable sound.

Alejo’s musical education is rooted in classical and electric guitar, studying under distinguished Paraguayan musicians such as Kucky Rey, Luz María Bobadilla, and Gustavo Viera. Additionally, he expanded his skills in piano at the National Conservatory of Asunción. His evolution as a flamenco guitarist has been remarkable, with over 20 years of experience performing nationally and internationally. As the founder of Almandaluz, a project blending flamenco with South American regional music, he produced and recorded the 2011 album Almandaluz. His performances, ranging from flamenco community events in Paraguay to dance thesis productions, reflect his deep engagement with this art form.

Alejo’s exploration of musical fusion has been a hallmark of his career. He skillfully integrates flamenco with genres like Paraguayan polka, Argentinian chamamé, and Brazilian bossa nova. He has collaborated with several prominent bands, including the legendary Paraguayan folk-rock group La Secreta, Bohemia Urbana, Pynandi, and his current band, Manohermano. This adaptability and creative spirit have made him a respected figure in Paraguay's music scene and beyond.

As a composer, Alejo has created original music for various theater productions, such as What We Like Most About Federico and Verbo. His composition for Thunder Among the Shadows earned the EDA Award for Best Fiction Soundtrack. He has also worked as a music producer, recording and mixing works for national artists like Bianca Orqueda, a Nivacle singer-songwriter, and Danna Arus. His production credits include several albums and collaborations with emerging and established artists, showcasing his technical prowess and innovative approach to music creation.

Alejo’s portfolio includes more than 100 registered musical works. Among his notable contributions are albums like Almandaluz (2010), Alma de Cuero (La Secreta, 2006), and Magriguera (Manohermano, 2020). His compositions, such as “Arriero Hu” and “Río Paraguay,” reflect his ability to blend cultural traditions with contemporary sounds. His technical skills extend to solfege with the movable do technique, professional music production, and mastery of flamenco, classical, and electric guitar.
