Flute
Emily is from Hackettstown, NJ, where she started playing the flute at age 10. In high school, she performed with the wind ensemble, concert band, pit orchestra, marching band, jazz band, and indoor percussion. She also performed in chamber flute groups and accompanying choirs.
She is currently studying music and psychology with a minor in music performance at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in Ewing, NJ. She plans to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Music & Psychology in May of 2027, and will then pursue her master's degree in counseling. Her primary teacher is David DiGiacobbe of the Harrisburg Symphony, with whom she takes lessons in both flute and piccolo. At TCNJ, she has performed as principal with the wind ensemble, orchestra, flute ensemble, as well as in solo recitals. She is a two-time TCNJ Concerto Competition runner-up and part of the academic honor societies Psi Chi and Phi Beta Kappa. She works as an office assistant and music tutor for the TCNJ Music Department. She also plays piano and guitar.
Emily has been teaching flute for the past 4 years to K-12 students in her hometown. She not only teaches flute but also coaches those with performance anxiety and strives to make performing enjoyable. It’s called playing for a reason!
